Formally Ellie J, Clown Daddy is an actress who found the best of the craft in clowning.
Having trained at Atlantic Theatre Company through Tisch NYU and L’École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, she found her stride in dynamics of movement and the Michal Chekhov technique, keeping a keen eye on the power that performers have when engaging with an audience.

Currently located in Sullivan County, New York, Ellie does a lot of wandering the globe, enjoying the experience of different people and lands. As it turns out, every culture has it’s own version of the clown, and though our experiences can be vastly different, our emotions remain quite universal. There is nothing quite like laughing with another, even if we don’t understand a lick of what each other is saying!
Clown Daddy as an entity is composed of two proverbial volumes – the ‘clown’ and the ‘daddy.’ Depending on the venue, audience, vibe, etcetera, Ellie is exceptional at adjusting the volumes to fit the experience. Doing a kids show? Totally wholesome and G-rated. Having a birthday party for your gay best friend? Clown Daddy can turn up the volume, if you knowwhaddimean. 😉
